In order to
make our country self-reliant and excel in
technological development, it is necessary
to develop human resources in form of
students well trained in basic sciences and
their applications. An effort in this
direction is initiated with the introduction
of 5-Year Integrated M.Sc., (Hons.)
courses in (1)Applied Physics, (2)Applied
Chemistry and 2-Year M.Sc., Course in Organic
Chemistry.
Students who have passed the II PUC
examination of Karnataka State or equivalent
course, and have special interest in Physics
or Chemistry may join these courses. A
student joining the 5-Year integrated course
need not first obtain the B.Sc., degree and
then try to join Masters degree course.
After successful completion of 5 year -
10-semester course, the student will obtain
both a B.Sc., and a M.Sc., degree. The
course enables to the student to either
pursue research in applied sciences or
obtain suitable jobs at relevant
laboratories or industries.
For the above courses, students will be
admitted on merit cum reservation basis.
Marks obtained by the students in the
qualifying examination and an entrance test
conducted during second week of June will be
considered.
