During the course students are trained in various fields of tours and travels, hotel and hospitality management, Cargo Management, Event Management, and Airline Ticketing etc by conducting special lectures, training and arranging study tours to various destinations of the country. Besides the services of existing regular faculty in the department, experts are invited from Travel and Tourism Industry to interact and to give first-hand knowledge to the students to understand the practical aspects of Travel and Tourism Industry in the right perspective. Apart from these, the Department had the services of a Visiting Fellow for a period of one month. The curriculum is designed in such a manner that the students are given ample opportunity to acquire industry exposure by making compulsory industrial training and dissertation work. Moreover, National/International Study Tours and field trips are frequently conducted to provide practical exposure on tourism products of India and other countries which will help the students to be expertise in tour packaging. Seminars and Workshops are conducted regularly to provide a common platform to the Students and tourism professionals to discuss the burning issues of Travel and Tourism industry. The Department, with the help of the students conducts minor research program on different areas of tourism and it is eagerly looking for Projects and Research in the field of Tourism as a part of academic requirement with a dimension of societal development. Overall, this Five year Integrated Course is structured to mould and trim the students to meet the standards of the Industry.

The department also focuses on development of soft skills and personality development of the students to equip them with the industry requirements. Taken as a whole, the Department is striving hard to impart quality education to make the young aspirants employable to the very dynamic segment. However, the rural nature of the University location and students is one of the constraints for imparting quality education. Since the department is in its inception, it requires more facilities and faculty members to ensure quality education.
