Pathways has completed six years of its existence
in the college. The success stories are many. The strides
Pathways has made in the campus are exemplary. The foremost
change we find in the participants is the rise in their self
confidence. The change is due to the training and
environment they get during their three years stay in the
college. Excellent facilities are created for them to reach
out to the excellent be it in terms of communication
skills, computer skills, human resources management, books
and magazines, outreach activities or life skills. Every
activity is designed with a specific purpose in mind.
Training along with the additional input, one can see the
change in their attitudes. One can see can make out the
difference between a Pathways student and a regular student
in the college. At Pathways we are trying to lay stress on
experiential learning rather than traditional teaching
methods. We are proud of the achievements made by the
students.
Among the innovative practices this year, we have
established an exclusive Training and Placement Cell under
the Pathways. The University has generously contributed to
the development of the cell by providing 1800 Sq.ft. area.
The cell has set up a training hall and a computer lab with
the state of art facility, to train the students in the
areas of soft skills and computer skills. Students other
than the Pathways also get an opportunity to make use of
this facility at an affordable cost. Thus, Pathways has
added one more dimension to its service through empowering
the students. Many organisations have come forward to
establish tie-up with the Pathways to utilise the services.
Regular placement activities are taking place this year.
The cell has also trained the faculty in teaching
methodology.
Dr. Usha Czacharia paid a visit to the college to
evaluate the programme activities on behalf the Ford
Foundation. She appreciated the hard work that has gone
behind the institution building and reaching out to the
deprived section of the society.
The success of any programme depends on the
participants, in this case the enthusiastic students and
faculty. They need out appreciation and applause. I wish
the best to all those who have helped us to climb heights.
